8. Group Concerns: a.) JoAnn reported that yesterday’s hike was the last of the season and was a little tougher than expected. Beautiful scenery and lots of interesting people were encountered. Next hiking season will start in Oct. or Nov., depending on the weather. If anyone wants to be notified on hike info, please contact JoAnn.
b.) Susan gave us detailed information on the orange DNR forms. These have to be filled out with the assistance of your doctor and once you have one, it needs to be prominently displayed in your home. These directives are primarily for people with terminal illness or the very elderly who have no interest in any medical heroics to prolong life. More information can be found on the following websites: Arizona Dept of Health – www.azdhs.gov and Office of the AZ Attorney General – www.azag.gov.
c.) Larry wanted to thank the seniors for their assistance at the Easter Egg Hunt, but since Jocelyn (from HOA management) was present, she was kind enough to thank everybody herself!
d.) Jim informed us that phone cards are available for free for military personnel. Contact him for further information.
e.) Mike R. wanted to thank the members who assist with setting up the Community Center room every week before the meeting. He gave us a rundown of some activities this week/weekend downtown. Art Museum on Monday – free; Sunday – free activities for children; Folk Festival with Mariachis this weekend downtown; Children’s Museum free on Saturday. For more info, please contact Mike.
f.) Nancy reported that plantings along Twin Peaks are still being uprooted and stolen. If anyone sees any of this activity, please report it.
g.) Dick J. wanted us all to remember victims of the recent tornadoes in our prayers.
