Minutes of Meeting of April 23, 2015
1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Iles shared some jokes. Announced that Eva has brought in some blingy cell phone covers if anyone can use them.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. Barb welcomed back Ed & Elaine, Tressie, Helen, welcomed visitor guest Elaine. John and Dorie Z. brought their cousin Virginia as guest.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. 42 members were in attendance. Larry has been in touch with
Al & Suzanne L. They have moved but are still members and will be added to the roster. As a point of interest Larry reminded us that Al & Suzanne are some of the original members and Al designed the SCRCR logo.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes for 04/16/15 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: Reported the current treasury balance is still the same $2,240.00. Carol reviewed info for the Pot Luck Picnic/Meeting on 4/30/15 at 9am at Crossroads Park. Bring a dish for yourself and others, BYO coffee. Carol will provide donuts and Jorge will bring the water and music. Also bring you own chair if so desired. Paper goods/utensils will be available.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Refreshments: Coffee and pastries are 1.00 each.
b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Nancy reported Lew M. is still recuperating, daughter Nancy is helping out. No further word on how Lily O. is doing. Dorey K. is in rehab and should be home by 4/28. She is improving daily. Stan S. is not doing well on the chemo. Our prayers to all. Sandy reminded us that SCRCR has two wheelchairs and 2 walkers available to members. Contact Sandy P. for more information.
c. Historian: Magda: Request photos from Mother’s Day and Pot Luck Picnic.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: Brought $40.00 cash and $60.00 in checks to Marana Food Bank. Mike T. will be taking over philanthropy for the summer season until John returns.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Requests advise in writing or email if any changes to emergency information.
Also reminded Snow Birds to let her know when they are departing.
7. Activities: Rose M.: Linda A. reported a good time was had by all at the Gaslight Theatre in spite of a few mishaps which included a trip and a flying pizza pan. Potluck/Picnic/Meeting at Crossroads Park is scheduled on Thurs. 4/30. Kentucky Derby Day & crazy hat competition at Old Father Inn May 2nd (race starts 3:20). Mother’s Day Lunch at The Gallery @ Dove Mountain on Monday May 11th 12:30 pm. Father’s Day Lunch Sat. June 20th 12:30 at Tohono Chul Park. See signup sheets for all activities as some have limited seating, limited menus and other information.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.) Library is having a book sale on Sat May 2nd 9 am to 4 pm b.)
Dominos are back if anyone wants to stay after meeting to play.

Minutes of Meeting of April 16, 2015
1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Iles shared some jokes.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. Barb welcomed back JoAnn & Walter R., John
&Linda D. Val and Rich R. leaving for summer (after a continental vacation). John and Dorie Z. brought their cousin Virginia as guest. Today is Arnie’s last day. We wished him well in Washington.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. 46 members were in attendance. News: Hilde Brick now has an email address.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes for 04/09/15 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: Reported the current treasury balance is now $2,240.00 after writing checks for the birthday cake ($30.00) and photo pages for who’s who book ($34.00) and get well basket for Lew M. ($12.00). Carol reviewed info for the Pot Luck Picnic/Meeting on 4/30/15 at 9am at Crossroads Park. Bring a dish for yourself and others, BYO coffee. Carol will provide donuts and Jorge will bring the water. Also bring you own chair if so desired. Paper goods/utensils will be available.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Refreshments: Coffee and pastries are 1.00 each.
b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Get well cards have been sent to Arlene L. and Dorey K. (who is in rehab).
Nancy asks if anyone found the 3 birthday cards from last week for absent members. Cards vanished. Phyllis found one and hand delivered to Betty Bolin.
c. Historian: Magda: Request photos from Mother’s Day and Pot Luck Picnic.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: Nothing to report this week.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Requests advise in writing or email if any changes to emergency information.

7. Activities: Rose M.: Linda A. reported has 2 Gaslight Theatre tickets remaining. Potluck/Picnic/Meeting at
Crossroads Park is scheduled on Thurs. 4/30. Upcoming events include Kentucky Derby Day & hat competition at Old Father Inn. Race starts 3:20 (need someone there at 1:30 to hold the table). Mother’s Day Lunch at The Gallery @ Dove Mountain on Monday May 11th 12:30 pm. See signup sheets.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.)Larry recommends the knife sharpener at Farmers Market on Twin
Peaks. b.) JoAnn R. attended Town of Marana town meeting and learned several new businesses are coming including a TJ Maxx, Ross & Pet Smart coming to Arizona Pavilions to name a few. Town has acquired property for a new high school. The outlet stores mall is ahead of schedule. Lake Marana to be designated a preserve. c.) John D. is having a garage sale this weekend. d.) Arnie has an estate sale May 9th.
e.) Eva asked if anyone would be interested in playing dominos today. A game was set up after the meeting.

1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Announcements: a.)Val R. has page 11 for who’s who folder. b.) Arnie Anderson will be leaving shortly but wanted to announce Estate Sale on Sat. May 9th at 9115 N. Palm Brook Dr. c.)Birthday members Alice K. and Richard R. were asked to share some bio facts. Iles shared some jokes.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. Barb welcomed back Eva and Alice K. Arnie was visiting with his daughter in law, Kathleen. Susan D. has earlier pages for photo book. Susan announced her house has sold. Good news!
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. 43 members were in attendance. Announced changes to
Standing Rules re: Historian duties and Sunshine rules for get well baskets. Hard copies are available and have been sent by email. A new roster is available in hard copy and has been distributed via email.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes for 04/02/15 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: Reported the current treasury balance is $2320. Carol announced the Pot Luck on 4/30/15.
Same time as regular meeting, at Crossroads Park. Bring your own coffee. Carol will be providing donuts and Jorge will bring the water. Also bring you own chair if so desired. Paper goods/utensils will be available.

b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Lew MacDonald sent an email thanking all for the Get Well basket and for those who signed up for rides to the doctor. Dorey Kraft was taken to hospital this morning. No additional information at this time.
c. Historian: Magda: Request photos from Mother’s Day and Pot Luck Picnic.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: Nothing to report this week.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Requests advise in writing or email if any changes to emergency information.

7. Activities: Rose M.: Linda A. reported Gaslight Theatre tickets sold out. Picnic at Crossroads Park is scheduled on Thurs. 4/30. The weekly meeting will be held at the picnic. Also working on upcoming events which include Mother’s Day Breakfast. Note: date is still tentative as it will not be on usual Sunday. More info coming. Kentucky Derby. Venues and dates for Mother’s Day and Father’s day still tentative. See agenda on next page for further details.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.) Jim A. reported there were insufficient hikers yesterday so no one hiked and hiking is discontinued for the summer. b.) Iles shared additional information on Self CPR. Bottom line is call 911, chew an aspirin tab and cough till help arrives. c.) discussed maintaining emergency info on the fridge for first responders and on your person (including list of meds, allergies and other medical info).

1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Shared some jokes.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. Barb welcomed back Magda, Colleen& Dave. Joann and Walter R. brought guests: their daughter Ann and son-in-law Mike. Elaine brought some lemons-help yourselves. Susan D. has page 10 for picture books and Val will be providing page 11 next week. Picture books are also available for new members.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. 48 members were in attendance.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes for 03/26/15 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: Reported the current treasury balance is $2320 after $10.00 payment for get well basket.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Refreshments: Coffee and pastries are 1.00 each.
b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Reported that Lew MacDonald has been diagnosed with cancer and will need rides for some of his treatment. A sign up list is available. See Nancy P. or Gladys P. Lily O. is still convalescing at Life Care Center.
c. Historian: Magda: Reported the tabs were mailed to Ronald McDonald House. A thank you letter was received.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: There is $21.00 accumulated in envelope as of last week.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Mentioned that recently someone’s emergency number had changed and it required some effort to find a good number. Telephone numbers often change so it is important to update information with Gladys. Also reminded Snow Birds to let her know when they are departing.
7. Activities: Rose M.: AMARG Boneyard Tour @ Pima Air Museum on Monday April 6 at 10 AM. Valid ID is required. Participants to meet in front of Pima Air Museum. Linda A. reported she has 2 tickets remaining for Gaslight Theatre. Money is due today. Picnic at Crossroads Park is scheduled on Thurs. 4/30. The weekly meeting will be held at the picnic. Also working on upcoming events which include Mother’s Day Breakfast, Kentucky Derby. Venues and dates for Mother’s Day and Father’s day still tentative. See agenda on next page for further details.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.) Yvonne reported there was no hike yesterday. Next week’s hike will be on Chiracahua Mountains. b.) Iles shared information on Self CPR last week that requires more investigation. Further information will be forthcoming. c.) Marana Food Bank letter of receipt for March.
9. Thought of the Day: Sandy: Sandy closed the meeting with a quote she received from Jim Alam.

1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Shared some jokes. He also announced a reminder from Dana to check your vehicle registration as some members have not received reminders of renewal.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. John and Dorie brought some guests today.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. A new roster is available.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes prepared by Jeanne L. for 03/19/2015 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A. Reported the current treasury balance is $2330 after current dues deposits and payment made for birthday cake. All dues are now paid.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Refreshments: Coffee and pastries are 1.00 each.
b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Reported that Magda is under the weather. A get well card will be sent. Lily O. is still at Life Care Center (she had a little cast setback) and looks forward to getting copies of the minutes to stay informed. Nancy requested baskets/ribbons and whatever to be donated. Please give to Cheryl W. Iles thanked both Nancy and Cheryl for the good work they are doing with the get well baskets.
c. Historian: Magda: No report today due to Magda’s absence.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: no report this week.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Reminded Snow Birds to let her know when they will be departing and returning if known.
7. Activities: Rose M.: upcoming include Southwest Indian Art Fair at Arizona State Museum , AMARG
Boneyard Tour @ Pima Air Museum (must pay ASAP to reserve tickets). Linda A reported Gas Light Theatre tickets are all spoken for but she has a list in event of cancellations. Preshow dinner at Little Anthony’s, time TBD. Money is due 4/2/15. See Agenda on next page for further details. Rose also working on upcoming events which include Mother’s Day Breakfast and Kentucky Derby.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.) Val R. has picnic supplies that require storage for summer. Carol volunteered to house supplies and coffee pot. b.) Jorge A. reported on hiking yesterday in Parker Canyon (at 6 thousand feet). 6 members hiked. Jorge gave a colorful description of Yvonne’s graceful spill. c.) Iles shared information on Self CPR. d.) Marana Food Bank letter of receipt for month of Feb.
