1994-1995 TIME LINE

6/15/94….. Janet Knebel, Willie Hubbard and Pearl Thompson met to discuss formation of the club. Janet wrote a letter to the Windmill magazine mentioning that Seniors had been allocated Thursday mornings in the Community Center and the first meeting would be on 7 July.
07/07/94 ….. The first publicized meeting was scheduled; there was no record of any one showing up.
07/14/94….. In the August Windmill which followed, Al Taylor wrote “a meeting was held on 14 July to discuss plans for group activities.” Other early joiners such as Al’s wife Mary, with Pearl, Willie, Janet, et al. may also have been present.
08/??/94…... Bonnie and Bob Vantrepotte joined.
09/??/94 ….. Suzanne & Al L’Heureux joined.
09/15/94…..v ”Paths of Life” tour at Arizona State Museum. Betty Bolin joined. Retirees were now accepted.
10/13/94….. In the November Windmill, Janet Knebel described a trip to Mount Lemmon on this date.
10/15/94….. Al T. wrote in the Windmill of having visited Bach’s Cactus Nursery and the San Xavier Mission.
10/??/94….. Lee and Ray Ciancio joined.
10/27/94…..v Madera Canyon – the humming bird capital of the world. The first group photo in the album included Al & Mary Taylor, Betty Bolin, Al & Suzanne L’Heureux, and Bob & Bonnie Vantrepotte. µ
11/03/94…..v At the Biosphere on a very cold, windy, and rainy day. LeArta appeared for the first time. µ
11/10/94….. Original bylaws and job descriptions were approved and typed.
11/17/94…..v Across the border on an all-day shopping and sightseeing trip to Mexico.µ
12/01/94…..v Botanical Gardens. µ
12/13/94…..v Evening tour of Winterhaven.
12/15/94…..v Saguaro National Park East for petroglyphs. µ
12/16/94….. Pot luck Christmas dinner at Willie and Pearl’s house; their sister Myrtle was present. Bo Bolin appears in photos for the first time (as an honorary member).µ

03/19/95…..v Amerind Museum.
03/15/95….. Lew & Agnes MacDonald joined. Ten members were meeting in the front room on this date.
03/16/95….. St. Patrick's Day dinner at Bob & Bonnie Vantrepotte's house. Over 30 attended, including some neighbors.µ
04/06/95…..v Picacho Peak. Some made it to the top. µ
05/15/95…..v Tombstone and the OK Corral. Don and Sandy Shkolnick appear for the first time. µ
05/18/95…..v Madera Canyon. µ
06/15/95….. Members started collating the Windmill magazines and distributing them by hand.
06/22/95…..v Casino of the Sun. µ
06/25/95….. All members participated at the First Annual Continental Ranch Festival, co-chaired by Mary Taylor and Sandy Shkolnick. It was a great success on the hottest day of the year. Bob Milner and Don Shkolnick were chefs. New names in the club on this date were Mary Elethorp, Liza & Rick Weiss, and Gene & Joan Beverly. A description of the event is in the photo album. µ

12/16/95….. Christmas dinner in the center. Appearing for the first time in text or photos were Vi Johnson, Louise & Fred Williams, and Shirley (?). Bob Vantrepotte was Santa Claus. µ
12/31/95….. New Years Eve at the center. µ
12/??/95….. At the end of the #1 album, there are three untitled pictures. (1) Edna Coburn appears in it for the first time. (2) The SCRCR shirt logos appear for the first time. (3) Ray Ciancio is seen presenting a “marriage” certificate to bride Mary and groom Al Taylor. Mary is carrying a beautiful flower bouquet – cauliflower that is!
