Minutes of Meeting of Jan. 30, 2014
1.       Call to Order:   The meeting was opened at 9:30 AM by Lou M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
2.       Lou M. thanked Lew MacDonald for the email map sent showing location of Lord of Grace Lutheran Church.  Lew presented a gift of a flag to be used in our new quarters.  It was certified by Senator McCain to have flown over the Capital. Thanks were given by Lou to Terry for courtesy extended to SCRCR by RockNJava. Lou gave notice that our meeting on Mar. 13th will conclude at 11:30am due to a Pastors Conference being held at the Grace Church.     
3.       Host/Hostess:   Barbara L.: Welcomed guests, Alice B’s daughter Debbie and son-in-law Mike.
4.       Vice-President:  Dorothy B.  There were 58 attending
5.       Secretary: Barbara R.  The minutes were approved as presented.
6.       Treasurer:  Carol A: The total in the treasury is now $1,038.
7.       Coordinators’ Reports:
a.       Refreshments: Money for coffee was taken from the donation basket. 
b.   Sunshine:  Sandy P.:  Scheduled back surgery for Betty B. has been postponed.  Ed D experiencing some pain post surgery.   Stan has had a 3rd chemo treatment.  Suzette and Stan will try to get to one meeting a month.  Please notify Sandy if you know of anyone who is ill or needs assistance.
c.   Historian:  Magda is feeling much better, thanked all who thought of her while ill. 
d.   PhilanthropyJohn Z. no report.
e.    Busybody:  JoAnn: Reported 11 people hiked last week on Dove Mountain and the Upper Catalina Trail. 
f.     Activities:  a.) Joyce G. reviewed the February activity list,   The next Gaslight performance will be on Feb. 13th.  Please let Alice know if there are birthdays or anniversaries being celebrated.
8.       Group Concerns/Good of the Group): a.) Dick called attention to need to assist Lily O getting to meetings at our new meeting site.  A bus route is available but would cost of $50.00 for five or six months.  Before a motion to cover the expense could be voted on, Magda asked to volunteer the payment remembering how much SCRCR has done for her over time.  b.) Jim reported on a new telephone scam.  Caller mentions an FBI Investigative Bureau.  c.)  Jane B reminded us that attorney Kathy Cleere will present Trust No Trust Decisions information Mar 27th. d.) Edna C. suggested we purchase the equipment to make our membership tags.  A motion to purchase equipment was voted on passed unanimously.  Edna also announced that a Board of Directors Meeting will be held Feb. 18th at 6:45PM.

Minutes of Meeting of Jan. 23, 2014
1.       Call to Order:   The meeting was opened at 9:30 AM by Lou M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Lou gave point to point driving instructions from Rock N’ Java to our new meeting place Lord of Grace Lutheran Church at 7250 Cortaro Road.  Our first meeting there will be Thursday, Feb 6 at 9:30 AM.  Lou held up printed banner reading Live, Laugh, Love saying he would like to hang it in our new quarters.
2.       Host/Hostess:   Barbara L.: Welcomed guests Burl and Susan.  Barbara mentioned anyone wishing to purchase Girl Scout cookies should see her.
3.       Vice-President:  Dorothy B. reviewed the Activities Calendar for the quarter. It has been emailed to the membership.  Dates will be firmed up as arrangements progress.
4.       Secretary: Barbara R.  The minutes were approved as presented.   47 people were present.
5.       Treasurer:  Carol A: The total in the treasury is now $1,378.00.  The 501C filing with the IRS has been completed with an assist from Joyce G.
6.       Coordinators’ Reports:
a.       Refreshments: Money for coffee was taken from the donation basket. 
b.       Sunshine:  Sandy P.: Eva V. has completed her last treatment which has left her feeling weak.  Stan has had his 1st treatment.  Scheduled back surgery for Betty B. on the 23rd of this month has been cancelled no reason known. Ed D is home after knee surgery. Please notify Sandy if you know of anyone who is ill or needs assistance.
c.       Historian:  Absent
d.       PhilanthropyJohn Z. reported 24 pounds of food were delivered to the Marana Food Bank.
e.        Busybody:  JoAnn: Reported a fine 5 mile hike was had to Parker Canyon Lake Wednesday.  The Wine Tasting was enjoyed by all who took part in the final phase of the day’s activity.
f.         Activities:  a.) Joyce G. has sent out a schedule of activities. b.) Richard R reminded us that a few squares are still available on the Super Bowl Board. The Super Bowl Party will be at the Native New Yorker@ 3PM on Feb. 2nd.  Contact Tony or Richard for more details. c.)JoAnn said next weeks hike to Dove Mountain will be a 4 mile distance with a 450 foot elevation gain. d.)Larry will hold a Computer Group Class next week for all interested after the meeting. e.) The next Gaslight performance will be on Feb. 13th. Please pay Alice B. if you have signed up.
7.       Group Concerns/Good of the Group): a.) A question was asked about the fee for use of the Grace Luther Church space.  Lou said an agreement was reached for $40 per month. He asked for a motion to pay for the first six months, amounting to $240.  A unanimous vote approved the motion. b.) Joyce G. suggested that an additional $100 donation be made to (Vision Church) The motion was made and passed unanimously. Walt R. volunteered to write a thank you message to accompany the donation.  c.) SCRCR will meet one last time at Rock N’ Java on Jan. 30.  The following Thursday, Feb.6th the group will meet at Lord of Grace Lutheran Church. d.) Jane B. introduced Dr. Bethany Neuman, DVM owner of the Twin Peaks Veterinary Center who made a very informative and interesting presentation answering a long list of questions submitted by our members.  e.) Jane reminded us that in late March we will be host to a local attorney who will offer advice about Trust/No Trust decisions.

Minutes of Meeting of Jan. 16, 2014
1.       Call to Order:   The meeting was opened at 9:30 AM by Lou M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  He reported he picked up the key for our new meeting space at Lord of Grace Lutheran Church.  He listed some of the responsibilities of our membership for use of the space at the church.  They include setting up and taking down of tables, chairs etc. for meetings.  We must be aware that “Church Rights” to the space are “First Rights” There will be no smoking, food or drink allowed.  Users will furnish cleaning supplies and clean area used including restrooms.  Lou also mentioned exploring the addition new games to our repertoire.  Games such as Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Bowling and Movies.  This may be taken up by Activities Committee.       
2.       Host/Hostess:   Barbara L.: Welcomed guest JoAnn, originally from Chicago.  She was asked by Carol A if she was a Chicago Bears fan?  A very big welcome back to Vi V. who reported Don V. is doing better.
3          Vice-President:  Dorothy B. reported we have 97 members.
4.       Secretary:  Jeanne covered for Barbara R. asking for approval of the minutes.  Approval was granted.  60 people were present.
5.        Treasurer:  Carol A: The total in the treasury is now $984.00. Membership dues ($24.00per year) are coming in rapidly.
6.       Coordinators’ Reports:
a.      Refreshments: Money for coffee was taken from the donation basket. 
b.      Sunshine:  Sandy P.: Eva’s radiation treatments should be ending soon.  Betty B. will be having back surgery on Jan. 23rd. Ed will be having knee surgery on Jan. 21st. Vi and Don are doing okay. Please notify Sandy if you know of anyone who is ill or needs assistance.  Dorie Z. reported John is back from the hospital. Stan S. is doing ok. Magda Q. has a virus and Armando has a cold returning from a visit with family.
c.       Historian:  Absent
d.      Philanthropy: No report today.
e.      Busybody:  JoAnn:  Explained responsibilities of Busybody.     


7.       Activities:  a.) Joyce G. will send out a schedule of activities. b.) Tony P. reminded us the Superbowl Party will be at the Native New Yorker@ 3PM on Feb. 2nd.  Board spaces are still available with a limit of 5 per person. Contact Tony or Richard for more details. c.) Hiking next week will be to Parker Canyon Lake with wine tasting at Peak Joshua d.) The next Gaslight performance will be on Feb. 13th. Please pay Alice B. if you have signed up.
8.       Group Concerns/Good of the Group): a.)Val and Richard will complete “SCRCR, Who’s Who” picture project when they return next week b.) Gladys reminded members to bring in old Christmas cards for donation to St. Jude’s Ranch. The only stipulation is that there is no writing on the back of the picture. c.) SCRCR will meet at Rock N’ Java for about 2 more weeks before the group moves to Lord of Grace Lutheran Church.  d.)  Jane B. reminded us that we will hear a presentation by a local Veterinarian at 10AM., Late in March an Attorney will offer advice about Trust/No Trust information.  e.)  Jim A. Warned not to throw 9 volt batteries away without placing tape across the terminals because of fire danger. JoAnn mentioned the hike the group went on.
