5. Treasurer: Walt: The total in our treasury at present is $1223.52.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a) Refreshments: Elaine and Val: Refreshments today were provided by Magda and Don O. Next week, Jim, Linda and Edna will be in charge of refreshments.
b) Sunshine: Linda D: Agnes is seeing a gastroenterologist today for her ongoing medical problems. Lew is receiving physical therapy for back problems. Magda informed us that her husband is suffering from shingles.
c) Historian: Magda: No new information.
d) Philanthropy: Betty: No trip to the Food Bank last week. Donations for the military and any addresses you may have are needed by the end of April.
e) Busybody: JoAnn: Most contact information has been submitted. Notify JoAnn of any changes. Alice K. stated that due to the number of changes and additions in membership, new rosters will be going out.
7. Activities: Carol A. (absent today): The pot luck picnic date has been changed from Mar. 28th to Apr. 14th. No new agenda has been submitted as yet, but please see attached agenda for some events which were brought up in this discussion. New agenda should be out next week.
8. Group Concerns: a.) JoAnn - This week’s hike was a good one for both groups. Next week there will also be two groups going to Picacho Peak State Park. Group #1 will go to the top which is a 5 ½ mile hike and known to be very exhausting. Group #2 will take an easier route of about 4 miles with little elevation gain. There is a charge of $7.00 per car of 4 individuals with another $3.00 for each additional person.
b.) Magda wanted to remind us all to keep our military in our prayers (as well as the AZ Wildcats who are playing tonight!).
c.) Mike R. mentioned a couple of events going on downtown, such as the cycle 5 mile loop and a water event. He did not have exact information so if anyone is interested, please contact Mike. d.) Vi wanted everyone to know that Don is now equipped with great hearing aids.
e.) Jim told us that after last week’s meeting he went to the HOA management people to inform them of our change in plans re the SCRCR meeting on Apr.14th. He was informed that the rental of the Community Center was canceled so therefore, the entire building is now available. After a group discussion, it was decided to leave everything as is. No formal meeting on April 14th and the pot luck picnic will take place at Columbus Park instead. Bring your chairs, cushions etc. – no alcohol.
f.) Due to the fact that some of our SCRCR members will be participating in line dancing at the picnic for seniors hosted by the City of Marana next Thursday, Mar.31st @ 10:00AM, there will be a change in the SCRCR meeting scheduled for that day. The group will meet earlier – at 9:00AM and will terminate by 9:30 AM, thereby allowing the members who are participants to leave in ample time, as well as any members attending the picnic.
g.) Molly wrapped up the meeting with a very funny joke.
9. Adjournment: Jim adjourned the meeting at 10:08AM.
