Minutes of Meeting for February 23, 2017
1. Call to Order: Bill E. led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Dorie led us in singing God Bless America. Bill then turned the meeting over to Susan and Barb.
2. Hostesses: Susan D. and Barb L. Barb counted 40 in attendance today, and welcomed Linda our newest member as well as Mike and Vicki’s friend Debi who is visiting from Rockford, Illinois. It was also good to see Ed and Elaine back! Susan wasn’t here today because Gene wasn’t feeling well.
3. Vice-President: Debbi S.: Debbi reports but we now have a total of 121 members.
4. Secretary: Kristi G.: The minutes for February 16, 2017 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Walt R.: Walt reports a total of $2,689.80 in the bank. We still have 13 members who have not yet paid their dues. Please people get that in to Walt ASAP or you will be removed from the roster.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Sunshine: Dorie Z.: Dorie reports that her husband John has just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and is adjusting to his new medicine which is difficult at best. Please remember John in our prayers as well as our dear June S., is still recuperating at home - please keep sending prayers her way as well. Jorge asked how Bob V., was doing and John D. said “not so good” unfortunately. He feels shut off from everything including his family and would most likely love to hear from some of us who knew him. Linda D. was kind enough to give me his number so here it is: 520.310.4933. Please, those of you who knew Bob, give him a call so he doesn’t feel so alone.
b. Historian: Magda Q.: No Magda today.
c. Busybody: Barbara J.: No report.
d. Philanthropy: John Z. No John so no report.
e. Hiking: Jim A. said they had a very nice hike at Pima Canyon roughly 6 ½ miles round trip. Next week will be in Ventana Canyon. Remember they hike every Wednesday morning and meet at 8:20 at the east end of the “Walgreen” parking lot at Twin Peaks and Coachline.

7. Group Concerns/Good of the Group:
* Please check the Town of Marana website for information on the Ina Road closing, detours, etc.
* Bill E. said the By-Laws committee hopes to have information to us by the March 2nd meeting.
* Rich R. recommends Hidden Figures as a good movie to see.
8. Thought of the Day: Sandy P. gave us a nice ending thought and a cute joke.
