Minutes of Meeting for June 23, 2016
1. Call to Order: Iles started this session at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance and the group sang God Bless America. Iles followed up with some great jokes. Paul Bach asked Iles to make an announcement that he has a great deal of new ostomy supplies as well as some diabetic supplies that he would share with anyone that needs them. Please call Paul directly if you need any of these items.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. welcomed all new members and we had a guest from New York, Miss Rosemary who we hope will join our merry band. We had 38 in attendance today.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: 111 SCRCR members total.
4. Secretary: Kristi G.: Minutes for June 16, 2016 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: Reported the current treasury balance is: $2,365.00.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Sunshine: Sandy P.: Sandy received a call from Bea the night before and all our campers up in the mountains are OK and safe for now from the fire but the smoke is bad. Pam M., asked for special prayers to go out to her neighbor and friend Mary Tyson who recently suffered a very debilitating stroke and I know we all will pray for her.
b. Historian: Magda: Absent
c. Philanthropy: Walt R. In Walt’s absence, Jorge will take the money and food out to the food bank at the end of the month.
d. Busybody: Elaine H.: Absent
e. Activities: Rose M.: reported on the schedule of activities (see below).
7. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: Kristi again brought in the applications for the Citizens Police Academy which starts September 7th, as well as applications for the “Ride-Along” program. FYI – there will be a board meeting immediately following Thursday’s meeting. If anyone wants to attend, please feel free to come join us.
8. Thought of the Day: Sandy P. closed the meeting with a beautiful Irish prayer along with a great joke

Ø Thurs., July 28th, 5 pm – Dinner @ Cheesecake Factory-60 W. Wetmore-Tucson Mall. Reservation for 20.
Ø Tues., August 16th – Tour of HF Coors Pottery located @ 1600 S. Cherrybell in Tucson. You must be there by 9:45 am as tour begins promptly @10:00 am. Cost is $10.00 per person, prepaid confirmation required at least 2 weeks in advance. This is a one hour tour and everyone must wear closed toed shoes, since the tour will start in the factory. If any of you have breathing difficulties, it is suggested you bring a mask to wear in the factory part of the tour.
