Minutes of Meeting for July 21, 2016
1. Call to Order: Larry L., started this session at 9:30 am with the Pledge of Allegiance and Paul B. led us in singing God Bless America. Larry followed up with some funny thoughts to ponder.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L., happy to see everyone and that we had 48 in attendance today. Again, very good for the middle of summer.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: 114 SCRCR members total.
4. Secretary: Kristi G.: Minutes for July 14, 2016 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A.: No report today.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Sunshine: Sandy P.: No report – everyone is well.
b. Historian: Magda: Thanked everyone once again for the pull tabs from cans for the Ronald McDonald House. She told us that Barbara R. should be returning at the end of August or early September. She was also going to call Adria whom we haven’t seen in quite a while unfortunately.
c. Philanthropy: Walt R.: Taking around $70.00 plus food to the Marana Food Bank today.
d. Busybody: Elaine H.: Just a reminder to all new folks to get her their emergency contact information.
e. Activities: Rose M.: reported on the schedule of activities (see below).
7. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: In light of what’s going on in the world today, Magda had a wonderful idea to honor our remarkable Marana Police Department with a “thank-you” basket of fruit and food-stuffs. To that end we will collect fresh fruit, cookies, cakes, health/power bars, things the Officers can take with them in the car and eat easily, on AUGUST 4TH. This is the only day we will be collecting as we will package it up and take it right to the police departments. Magda will get thank you cards and she and Kristi and anyone else who wants to, will take it to the two police locations - Ina Road and Marana Road.
8. Thought of the Day: Sandy P. closed the meeting with a great thought along with an awesome ending joke as always.

Ø Wed., July 27th 7 p.m. – Gaslight Theater – “The Revengers” @ 7:00 PM; dinner at Little Anthony’s @ 5:00 PM.
Ø Thurs., July 28th, 5 pm – Dinner @ Cheesecake Factory-60 W. Wetmore-Tucson Mall. Reservation for 20.
Ø Tues., August 16th – Tour of HF Coors Pottery located @ 1600 S. Cherrybell in Tucson. You must be there by 9:45 am as tour begins promptly @10:00 am. Cost is $10.00 per person, prepaid confirmation required at least 2 weeks in advance. This is a one hour tour and everyone must wear closed toed shoes, since the tour will start in the factory. If any of you have breathing difficulties, it is suggested you bring a mask to wear in the factory part of the tour. NOTE: NEED MONEY BY NEXT MEETING, THURSDAY, JULY 28TH PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
