Minutes of Meeting for November 10, 2016
1. Call to Order: Iles W., began the meeting at 9:30 am with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by us all singing God Bless America. Iles then made the announcement of his and Jada’s marriage performed in the Bahamas last week. I know everyone joins me in heartfelt congratulations for them both! He then introduced Mindy Blake and Jim DeGrood who gave a talk about the RTA and all the wonderful things they are doing but we were all more interested in the Ina Road project so hopefully when Mr. DeGrood gets more information on that, he’ll come back with better “intel’. Bottom line is it’s going to be a long two-year project when it closes in projected February, 2017.
Iles then had the birthday folks tell a little bit about themselves as we were quickly running out of time. I also made an announcement regarding a little lost doggie who I hope by now has either found his owner or has a new loving home (Maria and Pedro???)
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L./Susan D. There were 57 in attendance this morning and we welcomed George and Julie S., back from their vacation. Also it was good to see Dorothy B., who came for her birthday cake J
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: 118 SCRCR members total.
4. Secretary: Kristi G.: Minutes for November 3, 2016 were approved and accepted with corrections. Visitor Lynn last week was Carol A.’s cousin not Gladys P.’s.

6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Sunshine: Sandy P.: Dick J., doing a bit better. We need lots of prayers for Dorie and John Z. Dorie will be undergoing radiation treatments for tumors on Friday, November 18th. Also prayers for Steve K. who is undergoing his 4th surgery on his ankle.

7. Group Concerns/Good of the Group:
· I was asked to put in the minutes who is collecting what for whom as a reminder so here goes: Magda Q. collects the metal tabs from cans for Ronald McDonald House; Sandy P. collects the Box Tops for schools from all kinds of packaged products; Julie S. collects the little bottles of shampoos, lotions, etc., that we all grab from the hotels/motels for the Woman’s shelter and she also collects the fronts only of greeting cards for St. Jude Hospital. That’s all I can remember at the moment so please let me know if I’ve forgotten anyone or anything that’s being collected all the time.
· Sharon S. is still collecting Lego sets for children with cancer at Banner Children’s Hospital and will through December 1st, perhaps longer but for sure by December 1st.
· Jim A., says the hiking group is starting again and they would like more of the membership to join, if they’d like to. They meet every Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM in the far eastern part of the Walgreens parking lot at Twin Peaks and Coachline.
8. Thought of the Day: Sandy P. Due to time constraints, Sandy closed the meeting with a great ending joke only
9. Adjournment: Iles W.: Meeting was adjourned at 10:55 AM
