Minutes of Meeting of Mar. 26, 2015
1. Call to Order: Iles opened the meeting at 9:30am with the Pledge of Allegiance. Shared some jokes. He also announced a reminder from Dana to check your vehicle registration as some members have not received reminders of renewal.
2. Host/Hostess: Barb L. and Susan D. reported no new members. John and Dorie brought some guests today.
3. Vice-President: Larry L.: We have 98 members. A new roster is available.
4. Secretary: Jennette T.: Minutes prepared by Jeanne L. for 03/19/2015 were approved and accepted.
5. Treasurer: Carol A. Reported the current treasury balance is $2330 after current dues deposits and payment made for birthday cake. All dues are now paid.
6. Coordinators’ Reports:
a. Refreshments: Coffee and pastries are 1.00 each.
b. Sunshine: Nancy P.: Reported that Magda is under the weather. A get well card will be sent. Lily O. is still at Life Care Center (she had a little cast setback) and looks forward to getting copies of the minutes to stay informed. Nancy requested baskets/ribbons and whatever to be donated. Please give to Cheryl W. Iles thanked both Nancy and Cheryl for the good work they are doing with the get well baskets.
c. Historian: Magda: No report today due to Magda’s absence.
d. Philanthropy: John Z.: no report this week.
e. Busybody: Gladys P.: Reminded Snow Birds to let her know when they will be departing and returning if known.
7. Activities: Rose M.: upcoming include Southwest Indian Art Fair at Arizona State Museum , AMARG
Boneyard Tour @ Pima Air Museum (must pay ASAP to reserve tickets). Linda A reported Gas Light Theatre tickets are all spoken for but she has a list in event of cancellations. Preshow dinner at Little Anthony’s, time TBD. Money is due 4/2/15. See Agenda on next page for further details. Rose also working on upcoming events which include Mother’s Day Breakfast and Kentucky Derby.
8. Group Concerns/Good of the Group: a.) Val R. has picnic supplies that require storage for summer. Carol volunteered to house supplies and coffee pot. b.) Jorge A. reported on hiking yesterday in Parker Canyon (at 6 thousand feet). 6 members hiked. Jorge gave a colorful description of Yvonne’s graceful spill. c.) Iles shared information on Self CPR. d.) Marana Food Bank letter of receipt for month of Feb.
9. Thought of the Day: Sandy: Sandy closed the meeting with a quote.
